Samsung and Apple’s new tech: A playful look at iOS 26 and Galaxy features

At Apple’s WWDC 25 event last week, a new design called Liquid Glass for iOS 26 was featured. This did not stop Samsung from making fun of it on twitter/x. Samsung pointed out that the Glass UI in iOS 26 shares many features with its One UI 7 update that came out earlier this year. However, their designs are not exactly alike. Despite that, both companies now have floating bars and customizable apps, making their software look much the same.
Samsung made it clear that it already offered some of Apple’s AI features beforehand. Specifically, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 phones included AI translation last year, and now the feature is found on many other Galaxy gadgets.
At the end, Samsung made fun of the Apple Watch’s recent addition of AI by saying that its Galaxy Watch has had smart replies and sleep tracking using AI for some time now. To sum up, both businesses are making comparable features, but Samsung drew attention to the fact that it was the first to use a few of them.
Customizable apps? Floating bars? That sleek glass UI? Looks… familiar 🤔
