Samsung’s One UI 8 may bring larger lock screen widgets

One UI 8, the next big version, is under development by Samsung. In a recent test build for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, bigger lock screen widgets were seen by users.
With the version of One UI currently available, only one row of widgets appears on the lock screen and people have to slide through them. In the latest internal One UI 8 test build (ending in ZHDC), these widgets are now stacked, so you see them all without wasting much space. Users could get more information at a glance because there will be fewer widgets per screen.
Samsung included lock screen widgets again in One UI 5, though they haven’t improved since. It looks like One UI 8 could make the feature better for Samsung phones.
Be aware that this stacked widget layout has only been shown in the beta version so far. Samsung may change or eliminate the feature before releasing the new phone. As for now, we have an idea of how Samsung could change and add to the lock screen in the future.
Both Android 15 and One UI 8 will be available at the same time sometime this year. It’s encouraging to watch as Samsung tries new approaches to use the lock screen.
