Galaxy S26 to feature upgraded main camera after years of delay

For years, Samsung used only a 50MP main camera in its phones, but the next flagship is going to get a major upgrade. Very soon, the Galaxy S26 will be released with a new and improved main camera sensor, as reported.
From the Galaxy S22 series in 2022, Samsung placed the 50MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor on its standard S-series phones (including the S22, S23 and S24). Although the sensor provides decent images, it hasn’t changed at the same pace as camera technology on other smartphones. According to reports, Samsung is now creating a novel camera sensor that will be presented in the Galaxy S26 family.
Though the sensor is not complete and its details are not confirmed, it’s thought to result in superior picture quality, better pictures in dim conditions and faster focus. With this change, Samsung will be able to compete with Apple and Google, who have been fast in upgrading their cameras.
You should also note that in Samsung’s Ultra models, such as the S22 Ultra and the S24 Ultra, powerful 200MP cameras are certainly provided. Only now, after many years with the same camera, will the standard Galaxy S26 be refreshed.
The Galaxy S26 should be out by early 202,6 and a new camera is expected to be one of its top features. Because competition is getting tougher, this change could keep Samsung’s flagship series popular.
