One UI 7 will remind you to stop using your phone while walking

One UI 7

Samsung is testing a helpful new feature in One UI 7 that could improve user safety. This upcoming update will warn you if you’re walking while using your phone.

Found in the Digital Wellbeing settings of Android 15-based One UI 7, the feature is called “Screen attention & heads-up.” When turned on, it can alert you if you’re looking at your phone screen while walking. This reminder aims to prevent accidents caused by being distracted, especially in busy areas or near traffic.

The feature doesn’t just tell you to stop—it reminds you to pay attention to your surroundings. A message pops up on the screen if you’re moving and still using your phone. While it’s not a brand-new idea—Google introduced something similar earlier—Samsung is now bringing it to its Galaxy phones through the new update.

One UI 7 is currently in development and will be based on Android 15. Samsung plans to roll it out to Galaxy devices later this year, starting with beta testing in the coming months.

This small but useful feature shows Samsung’s focus on user health and safety. By giving timely reminders, the company hopes users will be more mindful and avoid potential risks while walking. As phones become a bigger part of our daily lives, features like this could make a real difference.
