Galaxy Watch 8 may come with bigger batteries for better battery life

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 series might offer better battery life, thanks to slightly bigger batteries. A new certification leak reveals the battery sizes for all three expected models: the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Watch 8 Ultra.

According to a listing on the Safety Korea website, the standard Galaxy Watch 8 will come in two sizes. The smaller 40mm version will have a 295mAh battery, which is a little more than the 284mAh found in the Galaxy Watch 6. The larger 44mm model will get a 425mAh battery, slightly up from the 410mAh used before.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra, the high-end model, is expected to come with a large 590mAh battery. That’s the same capacity found in the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. However, we don’t know yet if Samsung will make any changes in battery efficiency to boost performance.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic also showed up in a recent certification, likely coming in 43mm and 47mm sizes. Battery info for this model isn’t confirmed yet, but it’s expected to be in the same range as the regular Watch 8.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 8 series in July during its next Unpacked event. While these battery upgrades aren’t huge, they could help the watches last a bit longer on a single charge. More official details will be revealed soon.
