Galaxy phones likely to get Android 16 and One UI 8 beta soon

Samsung plans to release the Android 16-powered One UI 8 update for its Galaxy models soon. They will first release a beta version before making the final version available. Samsung is working on One UI 8 and has started internally testing the early stages of the update, which will be offered later this year.

The Galaxy S24 series is the first to get the beta update, as that is often the rule for Samsung. Later on, Samsung could launch the beta for its older premium models such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The Galaxy A55, A54 and a few tablets from the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup may also get the beta update.

I think developers are currently working on a new design feature. The One UI 8 testing version reveals a bar labeled “One UI Now” that is set to give ongoing updates on your cellphone. This might show how much battery is left, the current state of the software and other immediate information. It is close to Live Activities, a feature on Apple’s iOS.

Even though the Android 16 update is presently available only to developers, Google is aiming to release it to the public in August. Next, Samsung may provide the beta to a few users as a test before making it available to everyone by the end of the year.
