You can simplify notifications on your lock screen with the new One UI 8

One UI 8

With the One UI 8 update, Samsung will be changing the way lock screen notifications function. By making this update, Samsung hopes to make dealing with lock screen notifications less complicated.

Right now (with One UI 6), the settings for notifications can be found on the main Lock Screen menu. However, in the latest One UI 8, Samsung has grouped these features in a new, well-organized area. Going to Settings > Lock Screen & AOD > Notifications will now show you a clear set of options.

Users will now see AOD and Lock Screen notifications as different things. Users can manage their updates now. One way is to enable notifications on the Lock Screen and not on the Away-O-Screen. You can quickly see a preview of what your options will look like at the top of the menu.

New to Samsung’s customization is the ability to change the transparency and decide if your screen dims automatically for notifications. What’s more, the menu has been simplified and now includes a switch that allows you to turn notifications on or off in just one tap.

If you have the One UI 8 beta installed on a Galaxy S24 device, you can enjoy these changes. Not all Galaxy devices will get this feature until One UI 8 becomes available to a wider audience.
