One UI 8 to add dynamic wallpapers for both home and lock screens
Samsung is preparing to introduce new dynamic wallpapers with its upcoming One UI 8 update, based on Android 15. This feature will let users enjoy animated backgrounds on both the home screen and lock screen, bringing a more lively and personalized look to their devices.
According to recent reports, the new dynamic wallpapers will be available under the “Wallpaper and style” section in settings. These wallpapers will change based on the time of day, similar to how iOS has animated weather and astronomy options. This means your phone’s wallpaper could shift from day to night or reflect changes in the sky, giving a fresh and interactive experience.
Samsung has already offered some basic dynamic effects in previous updates, like moving lock screen wallpapers or slight animations when unlocking the device. However, One UI 8 is expected to make this feature more advanced and customizable.
The update is currently being tested on flagship Galaxy phones, and the beta version could launch as early as July 2025. Once released, more devices are expected to receive the feature through regular software updates.
