Galaxy S26 Edge might replace the regular Galaxy S26 and S25 FE to get better selfie camera

Samsung

Samsung could be making some changes to its upcoming Galaxy S series. A new rumor suggests that the company might not release a regular Galaxy S26 next year. Instead, Samsung could launch a phone called the Galaxy S26 Edge, which might take the place of the standard S26 model.

If this happens, it would be the first time Samsung brings back the “Edge” branding since the Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016. The name usually hints at a curved screen, which was popular years ago. Now, Samsung could be planning to make its higher-end Galaxy S26 Ultra model even more premium, and the S26 Edge might become the mid-tier option.

While this isn’t confirmed yet, it shows that Samsung may be changing how it names and markets its phones. We’ll have to wait for more solid information in the coming months.

On another note, Samsung also seems to be upgrading the Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition). According to a new report, the S25 FE will come with a better front camera. The selfie camera is expected to be upgraded to 12MP, matching the main Galaxy S25 lineup. The last time Samsung upgraded the FE model’s front camera was two years ago.

This improvement will likely make the Galaxy S25 FE more appealing for users who care about selfies and video calls, while still keeping it as a more affordable option than the flagship models.
