Samsung Messages will soon get new features with One UI 8

Samsung is working on big changes for its Messages app, which will come with the One UI 8 update. These new features are expected to improve how users chat, share media, and manage their messages.
One major improvement could be better integration with Samsung’s ecosystem. This might include smoother syncing between phones, tablets, and Galaxy Watches. Users may also see smarter suggestions while typing, such as quick replies or relevant emojis based on their conversations.
The app could also bring updated design changes. A cleaner layout, better message organization, and easier access to media like photos and videos are likely. New options for customizing message settings—like chat backgrounds and notification styles—may also be added.
There’s a chance Samsung will boost privacy tools in the Messages app too. Features like message expiration, secure chat modes, or better spam filters could help users feel more protected.
These updates are still in development, and more details should arrive as Samsung prepares for the official launch of One UI 8. Based on the company’s past schedule, the update may first roll out with the next Galaxy S series flagship in early 2026.
With these changes, Samsung aims to make messaging easier, smarter, and more fun for its users.
