One UI 8 may bring bigger cover screen and new sound feature to Galaxy phones

One UI 8

Samsung is getting ready to launch its next software update, One UI 8, which will be based on Android 15. While the update hasn’t been officially announced yet, early leaks are already giving us a glimpse of what to expect, especially for foldable phones and sound features.

One of the big changes could be for the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7. It’s rumored to come with a larger cover screen than the previous Flip models. This bigger screen would allow users to interact more with the phone without opening it—like replying to messages, checking widgets, and using more apps. This feature might be powered by a new version of One UI 8 designed for foldables.

Another interesting update could come to the “Now Playing” section in One UI 8. Samsung is testing a new “Listen” button that might let users listen to or recognize songs that are playing nearby, similar to Google’s “Now Playing” or Shazam. This feature could be part of the lock screen or quick settings area, making it easier to identify songs with a single tap.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed a release date for One UI 8, but it’s expected to roll out later this year alongside the Android 15 launch. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also likely to be unveiled around the same time.

These changes show Samsung’s focus on making phones smarter and more user-friendly, especially for foldable phone users and music lovers.
