Samsung’s upcoming Foldable phone surprises with its processor

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

Samsung is preparing to launch a new, wallet-friendly foldable phone, possibly named the Galaxy Z Flip FE or Z Flip7 FE. A recent performance test on Geekbench, a popular app for checking device speed, gave us a sneak peek at what this phone might offer.

The device is equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 2400 processor, not the Exynos 2400e found in the Galaxy S24 FE. This chip powered the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in certain regions, so it’s capable but might not thrill everyone. The tested phone came with 8GB of RAM and was running Android 16, hinting it could ship with Samsung’s One UI 8 interface.

Since Android 16 is expected around June, the phone may hit shelves in July, likely alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7. There’s also a possibility it could feature a different chip, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, in some markets, as Samsung often varies processors by region.

The Exynos 2400 has stirred some chatter. Earlier rumors pointed to a stronger chip, so some fans might feel let down. However, the Exynos 2400 is reliable, and this phone aims to make foldable tech more affordable. More details will likely emerge soon to clarify its full potential.
