Samsung Galaxy S21 wraps up four OS updates with One UI 7.0

Samsung has delivered the One UI 7.0 update to the Galaxy S21 lineup, hitting a major milestone. This release completes the company’s pledge to provide four full operating system upgrades for its flagship phone, a first in its history. The update, available for the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, began rolling out in select regions and is now accessible to users globally via an over-the-air download.
Debuting in 2021 with One UI 3.1 on Android 11, the S21 series has evolved through One UI 4.0 (Android 12), One UI 5.0 (Android 13), One UI 6.0 (Android 14), and now One UI 7.0 (Android 15). The Galaxy S21 FE, which started with One UI 4.0, is slated for one final upgrade to One UI 8.0, rounding out its software journey.
This milestone underscores Samsung’s dedication to keeping its premium devices current with extended software support. One UI 7.0 introduces a refreshed design, smoother transitions, and new tools to improve how users interact with their phones. It’s a clear sign of Samsung’s push to enhance device longevity.
Moving forward, Samsung plans to extend the four-year update commitment to the Galaxy S22 and S23 series. Meanwhile, newer devices like the Galaxy S24 and S25 are set to receive an impressive seven years of OS upgrades, ensuring they remain cutting-edge for longer. This strategy reflects Samsung’s focus on user satisfaction and sustainable device use.
