Samsung to start mass production of Tri-Fold displays in June

Samsung Tri-Fold

Samsung is getting ready to begin mass production of its new tri-fold display panels in June 2025. These panels can fold twice, turning one large screen into a more compact device that’s easier to carry. This step suggests Samsung could be planning to launch its first tri-fold phone or tablet shortly.

Samsung has already created working prototypes of the tri-fold screen and showed them at past tech events. Now, with production starting soon, it looks like the company is moving beyond the testing stage and getting ready for real-world use. These displays are expected to be made by Samsung Display, the company’s screen-making division.

The tri-fold panel may allow users to enjoy a larger screen while still being able to fold it down into a pocket-sized form. Rumors say Samsung might use this tech in a future product possibly called the Galaxy Z Fold Tab. While nothing is confirmed yet, this device could launch in the second half of 2025.

Samsung has been a leader in foldable devices for years. With this new type of display, the company could take foldables to the next level, offering even more flexibility for users who want both portability and a bigger screen.

We can expect more details about Samsung’s tri-fold device soon, possibly at the next Unpacked event.
