One UI 8 brings a fresh blur effect to pop-up windows

Samsung is working on its next big software update — One UI 8, which will be based on Android 15. A new leak has given us a quick look at some of the visual changes, and one of the most noticeable ones is a new blur effect added to pop-up messages and dialog boxes.

In One UI 7, dialog boxes have a solid background with rounded corners. But in One UI 8, Samsung is adding a more modern look. The new design uses a blur effect behind these pop-up windows, making them look softer and cleaner. This change makes the UI look more stylish and helps focus attention on the message, without blocking the background too harshly.

This updated blur style was seen in a test version of the Samsung Keyboard settings screen, where a dialog box popped up asking the user to choose a keyboard. The pop-up now shows a blurred background instead of a solid one.

Even though this change might seem small, it adds a more premium feel to the interface. Samsung has been slowly improving the design of One UI with each version, and this is another step in that direction. One UI 8 is still in development and will likely roll out later this year, starting with Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones. More design changes and features are expected to come as testing continues.
