These Galaxy phones and tablets may get One UI 8 (Android 16) update

Samsung is already working on Android 15 with One UI 7, but that’s not stopping us from thinking about Android 16. Google has confirmed Android 16 is coming in 2025, and Samsung will likely bring One UI 8 with it.

While it’s too early to confirm exactly which Galaxy phones and tablets will get One UI 8, we can get a good idea based on Samsung’s software update policy. Many Galaxy devices get four years of Android updates, so we can figure out which ones are still within that support window.

Phones that are expected to get Android 16 with One UI 8 include the Galaxy S24, S23, and S22 series, as well as the Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and their predecessors going back to Fold 3 and Flip 3. The Galaxy A54, A53, A34, and A33 are also likely to get it. On the tablet side, the Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S8 series should be included too.

Keep in mind, this list could change. Samsung might add or remove devices depending on their internal plans. But based on what we know, the Galaxy devices launched in the past few years should be eligible for the Android 16 + One UI 8 update when it arrives.

As always, Samsung will likely release the update first to its latest flagship models before rolling it out to older ones.
