Samsung pauses One UI 7 update and pulls schedule

Samsung has stopped rolling out its One UI 7 update for Galaxy devices and removed the planned schedule from its website. The update, based on Android 15, started going out to users on April 7, reaching places like South Korea, Europe, and North America.

It was supposed to hit more regions, including Asia, on April 14, but a problem caused the company to hit pause. The issue seems to be a bug affecting some Galaxy S24 phones, especially those with Exynos chips. Reports say it caused trouble with unlocking devices, leading Samsung to pull the update for these models.

The S24 Ultra, which uses a different chip, is still getting the update, but slowly. Samsung hasn’t shared details about the bug or when things will get back on track, leaving users waiting for answers. The now-deleted schedule had listed which devices would get One UI 7 and when.

For example, 2024 flagship phones were set for April, with older models like the Galaxy S21 planned for later. Fans were excited for the update’s fresh look, smoother animations, and new features, but now they’re frustrated. After months of testing, many wonder why these issues weren’t caught earlier.

Samsung is likely working on a fix, but for now, no one knows when the rollout will restart. If you’re waiting for One UI 7, keep checking your phone’s settings for updates. Hopefully, Samsung will share more news soon to clear things up.
