Samsung Galaxy S26 might switch back to Exynos chips

Samsung could be making a big change with its Galaxy S26, expected in 2026. For years, the company has used only Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips in its top phones, like the Galaxy S23 and S24. But now, rumors suggest Samsung might bring back its own Exynos chips for the S26.
This would end the Snapdragon-only streak that started in 2023. The shift comes after Samsung faced issues with its Exynos chips in the past. Fans and experts often said Snapdragon was faster and better for battery life. That’s why Samsung ditched Exynos for a while and stuck with Qualcomm.
However, new reports hint that Samsung has been working hard to improve its Exynos tech. The upcoming Exynos 2600, built with a 2nm design, might power the Galaxy S26. This chip could match or even beat Snapdragon in speed and efficiency.
If this happens, it’s a bold move for Samsung. The company wants to rely less on other brands and show off its skills. Still, some fans might worry if Exynos can compete with Snapdragon’s reputation. Samsung’s success will depend on how well the new chip performs in real life—think gaming, multitasking, and battery power. For now, nothing’s confirmed. Samsung could still surprise us with its plans. But if Exynos returns, it’ll be exciting to see how it stacks up in the Galaxy S26!
The Exynos 2600 is definitely back and it will be used in the S26.
But the chip volume is so limited that it’ll likely be similar to the Exynos 990 situation.
I’m not sure if SF2 is actually any good.
