Samsung rolls out March 2025update for Galaxy phones in India and beyond

Samsung

Samsung has started sending out a new software update for Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra users in India. This update includes the March 2025 security patch and is already available in the US and Korea. Soon, it will reach all devices worldwide.

This update for the Galaxy S23 series in India runs on One UI 6.1 and Android 14. While Samsung has also launched the One UI 7 Beta for these phones, the March 2025 security patch is only for those not using the beta version. The update comes with these build numbers:

  • S911BXXS8CYBD (Galaxy S23)
  • S916BXXS8CYBD (Galaxy S23 Plus)
  • S918BXXS8CYBD (Galaxy S23 Ultra)

The March 2025 patch fixes over 58 weak spots in Samsung’s software. Google tackled 11 major and 40 serious issues, while Samsung fixed 7 problems tied to features like Auracast, Wi-Fi, and the Galaxy Watch Gallery. This makes your phone safer and more stable.

The update is about 400 MB and can be installed by going to Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install. Samsung also shared big news: the official One UI 7 update will launch on April 7, 2025, for many devices. Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 users will get it a bit later. While One UI 7 brings cool new tools, two features won’t work on these foldable phones.

First, the Settings app won’t have the smart voice search. This lets you say things like “My eyes hurt” to adjust brightness or turn on Eye Comfort mode. Second, Audio Eraser, a handy tool that cuts out background noise like wind or chatter in videos, won’t be available either. Still, these phones will enjoy One UI 7’s fresh look, smooth animations, and other Galaxy AI perks like AI Select and Writing Assist.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 series in Europe and South Korea got the March 2025 patch too. It fixes security flaws and keeps your phone running smoothly. Check for it in Settings > Software Update. For the full One UI 7 experience, though, newer models are the way to go!
