Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. This update brings a bunch of exciting changes. Here’s a simple breakdown of what’s included based on the changelog.
- Galaxy AI: Your Writing Buddy – With Galaxy AI, writing gets easier wherever you can type or edit text. Fix spelling mistakes, tweak the tone, shorten content, or add formatting. You can even give it a small piece of text, and AI will finish the rest for you.
- Call Transcripts Made Simple – Now, you can read your recorded calls as text right in the Samsung Phone app. Check out the full conversation on the Recents screen without any hassle.
- A Fresh, Modern Design – One UI 7 looks sharper and more stylish. Buttons, menus, and notifications get a sleek redesign with smooth curves and circles. New colors, gentle animations, and a cool blur effect make everything easier to read and enjoy.
- Updated Icons and Widgets – App icons on your Home screen are brighter and bolder, helping you spot them quickly. Widgets also get a colorful makeover with cleaner layouts that match perfectly.
- A Better Home Screen – The Home screen now has a neat grid that keeps everything tidy and balanced. It works great with standard-sized widgets. In landscape mode, widgets and icons line up nicely, with labels below instead of next to them. You can tweak icon sizes and decide if you want labels too.
- Cool Widget Options – Customize your widgets by picking their shape, background color, and how see-through they are. Plus, bigger folders let you tap apps without opening the folder first.
- Smarter Lock Screen – The new “Now bar” on the Lock screen shows quick info like timers or music controls without unlocking. You can also choose fun clock styles, resize them, and move them around. Add widgets like photo galleries or a QR scanner shortcut for extra convenience.
- Quick Panel and Notifications – Swipe down from the top right for quick settings or anywhere else for notifications. “Live notifications” keep you updated on things like timers or recordings. Notifications now match your app icons and stack neatly when grouped.
- Camera Upgrades – The camera layout is simpler, with easier access to modes and zoom options. Set the brightness for each mode, and it’ll stay that way. Pro modes are cleaner, with better zoom and mic controls for smooth video recording.
- Fun Photo and Video Tools – Make freestyle collages in the Gallery app or edit them in Stories. Add effects like slow motion to motion photos. Video editing now includes undo/redo and fun animations for stickers and text.
- Health and Productivity Boosts – Samsung Health adds a Mindfulness feature to track moods and relax with breathing exercises. Set medication reminders and view health records. For productivity, group alarms, preview minimized apps, and plan events with draggable calendar widgets.
