Major camera boost coming to Galaxy Z Fold 7

Foldable phone lovers, get ready for some exciting news! Samsung’s next big release, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, expected later this year, is set to feature some awesome camera improvements. One of the highlights? A much sharper main camera sensor. According to the folks at GalaxyClub, here’s what the Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera setup will likely include:
- A 200MP main camera (the same kind found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra).
- A 12MP ultra-wide camera for broader shots.
- A 10MP telephoto lens for zooming in.
- A 10MP selfie camera on the cover screen.
- An upgraded Display Camera (UDC).
They couldn’t confirm if the UDC will stick to its current 4MP resolution, but it’s getting better in some way. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which you can buy now, has a 50MP main camera. Samsung has kept the 50MP wide camera in the Fold lineup since the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Jumping to 200MP is a huge step up, especially since the camera specs haven’t changed much lately.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition was the first to go beyond 50MP with its 200MP camera. However, it’s only sold in Korea (and China under another name) and skips the Display Camera entirely. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 this summer, probably in July, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. There’s also buzz about a tri-fold phone in the works for 2025. With these camera upgrades, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be a game-changer for foldable phone fans who love snapping photos!
