Samsung confirms S Pen stays, Galaxy S26 Ultra to include stylus

Samsung has no plans to drop the S Pen anytime soon. At MWC25, a top Samsung leader put an end to rumors, saying the stylus will stick around for the Galaxy S26 Ultra next year. The company sees the S Pen as a big part of its products and isn’t letting it go. Rumors started swirling after Samsung cut Bluetooth from the S25 Ultra’s S Pen. At the Unpacked event, they explained that not many people used the Bluetooth features, so they removed them.
This led some to think Samsung might ditch the stylus completely in a future phone, like the S26 Ultra. The S Pen first joined the S series with the S21 Ultra and has been a feature ever since. Annika Bizon, Samsung’s Mobile Experience VP of Product and Marketing in the UK, spoke to TechRadar about it. “We care about how people use their phones—talking, writing, or taking notes in meetings,” she said. “The S Pen is great for jotting down ideas, and it’s a key piece of what we offer.”
She added, “People always ask if the Ultra will have an S Pen. It reminds them of the old Note phones. For us, the S Pen is a must-have for the Ultra experience.” The S Pen started as an add-on with the S21 Ultra, but since the S22 Ultra, it’s had its spot inside the phone. This handy feature came from the Galaxy Note days and remains a big part of Samsung’s style.
“Creativity matters to us,” Bizon said. “If you love to draw or sketch, the S Pen makes it easy. With our AI tool Sketch to Image, you can create amazing drawings. It gives us a cool design advantage.” Samsung has also paired the S Pen with Galaxy AI. Tools like Drawing Assist make the stylus even more useful for getting things done. Because of this, it’s hard to imagine the Galaxy S Ultra without it. Bizon wrapped up by saying, “Our research shows people love using the S Pen, and we’re proud it’s part of our lineup.”
