One UI 7’s new Quick Panel drops a fan-favorite QuickStar tool

Samsung’s One UI 7 update brings exciting changes to make your phone more personal, but it also says goodbye to some well-liked features. One popular tool from the QuickStar Good Lock module is missing in this latest version for Galaxy devices.

With QuickStar’s Quick Settings Instant Access, users can swipe down anywhere on the screen to pull up the Quick Settings panel in one smooth move. It also lets you tweak the gap between the status bar and Quick Settings. Sadly, One UI 7 has scrapped this handy option.

A Samsung community helper shared that the ability to adjust the split between the left and right sides of the Quick Settings panel, seen in older versions, is gone too. For Galaxy S25 owners, there’s no way to change how the notification and Quick Settings areas are divided anymore.

On the bright side, One UI 7 rolls out a fresh Quick Panel design with a new setup and extra ways to make it your own. You can now rearrange the Quick Settings sections to fit your style. There are two layout choices: “Together” and “Separate.” In “Separate” mode, swipe down from the top right to reach Quick Settings, while a swipe from anywhere else brings up notifications.

If you pick “Together,” you’ll get an updated version of the classic look, blending notifications and Quick Settings in one spot. Want the full Quick Settings view? Just swipe down again. One UI 7 offers more ways to customize your phone, but it leaves behind some old favorites in the process. While the new Quick Panel has cool upgrades, fans of QuickStar’s old tricks might feel a little let down.
