Wonjun Choi, who was the Vice President and leader of Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) Division, has just been named President of the MX Development Division. Samsung shared this exciting news on March 4, and Choi will keep guiding the MX Division in his new role.

As the new president, Choi is ready to take Samsung’s mobile team to greater heights. Following Samsung’s usual practice, he is expected to step into the shoes of TM Roh, the current MX Head, who recently stayed on the company’s Board.

Choi teamed up with TM Roh in the past to boost Samsung’s work on AI-powered smartphones. His efforts on the popular Galaxy S24 and S25 series played a big part in earning him this promotion. Before this big step, Choi worked at well-known tech companies like Qualcomm and Amicus Wireless.

He started at Samsung in 2016, where he quickly became a key figure in creating new mobile devices. In December 2022, he took charge of the MX Division. Born in 1970, Wonjun Choi brings a strong education to the table. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Seoul National University and later completed a doctorate at Stanford University. With his skills and experience, he’s set to lead Samsung Mobile into a bright future.
