One UI 7 delay keeps everyone guessing

Samsung’s One UI 7 update has been in testing for months, yet as March 2025 begins, the wait for a full release continues to puzzle users. The delay itself is grabbing more attention than the exciting changes the update promises.
One UI 7 runs on Android 15 and brings a fresh look. It splits quick settings into two easy-to-see sections, offering more control over notifications and shortcuts. App icons, widgets, and animations feel smoother and respond better to touch. Plus, it boosts app performance and adds smarter AI features.
The beta kicked off in December 2024 with the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. Soon after, Samsung sent out the first update to testers. Early feedback praised big improvements over One UI 6. The beta later reached India and other places, where users helped Samsung fix bugs and polish the software.
Here’s a twist: One UI 6 beta started in August 2023, but One UI 7’s beta arrived three months later, in December 2024. This late start hints that Samsung wasn’t fully ready. Even so, they could’ve launched it in January. Hopes rose when Samsung Korea posted a blog on January 20, saying the release was “coming soon”—just days before the Galaxy S25 debut.
At the S25 launch event, Samsung showcased One UI 7 but limited it to the new series. Their statement read: “The official One UI 7 rollout begins with the latest Galaxy S series. Other Galaxy devices will get it step by step.” Many expected February to bring the update to more phones, but instead, Samsung dropped a fourth beta with fixes.
New Samsung phones now come with One UI 7 pre-installed, yet older premium models are still waiting. This ongoing delay sparks questions about when last year’s devices will see the update. Samsung’s schedule is behind, and not a single stable update has reached existing phones yet. The mystery grows, keeping everyone on edge.
