Samsung’s first Tri-Fold phone might not show up this summer

Fans of foldable phones might need to hold off on getting too excited. News from South Korea had some people thinking Samsung’s first tri-fold phone—a device with two hinges—would pop up at the company’s big summer event, called Unpacked, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. But now, a reliable insider says that’s not the plan after all.
The earlier buzz suggested Samsung would roll out its tri-fold phone in July during the Unpacked showcase. It was supposed to share the spotlight with the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, giving fans a fresh twist on foldable tech. However, a source known as @MaxJmb, who’s often spot-on, recently shared that the tri-fold won’t launch with the other two. Instead, Samsung might save the big reveal for later.
In a quick update on X, @MaxJmb hinted that Samsung could still tease the tri-fold phone at the summer event, but it won’t be ready for a full introduction. This news stings a bit for fans who’ve been eager to see Samsung shake up its foldable lineup. A tri-fold phone feels like a bold new step, especially since other brands have already given it a go. Everyone’s curious how Samsung will stack up, but it looks like we’ll be waiting longer than hoped.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still on track. Some early unofficial pictures leaked yesterday, showing a design that’s a lot like the Z Fold 6 but with a slimmer look and a few small upgrades. It seems like a steady step forward rather than a huge leap, much like the last model.
Word is, Samsung’s also working on making the screen crease less noticeable on its foldables, especially for the Z Fold 7. That could be a nice touch for anyone eyeing the next batch of devices. For now, though, the tri-fold dream stays on hold—maybe just a sneak peek this summer, if we’re lucky!
