Why your Galaxy Watch isn’t backing up to Samsung Cloud

If you have a Galaxy Watch, you might notice that backing up your data to Samsung Cloud isn’t something you can control. You can’t just decide when to back up your smartwatch’s information; it all depends on some very specific conditions.
In theory, the backup should happen every day, but in reality, it can be quite tricky. Here’s why:
The backup to Samsung Cloud only happens once a day, but it’s strictly between 1 AM and 5 AM. For this to occur, several things need to be just right:
- Your phone must be connected to Wi-Fi.
- The battery of your phone should be at least 30% charged.
- Your phone needs to be plugged in for charging.
- The screen of your phone must be off.
Since these conditions are pretty specific, it’s not common for all of them to happen at the same time every day. This is why your Galaxy Watch might not have backed up to Samsung Cloud for a while, even though it might have saved data to your phone.
There’s no official way to manually force a backup of your Galaxy Watch to Samsung Cloud. So, if you want your data backed up, you’ll have to try and make sure all these conditions are met. It sounds like a bit of a puzzle, especially with the backup only possible during those few early morning hours, but that’s how it’s designed.
If you haven’t seen your data backed up in a while, you might get a notification in the Galaxy Wearable app explaining all this. Remember, patience is key here, or you’ll need to ensure your phone and watch are in the right state during those early hours.
