One UI 8 coming sooner than expected

One UI 8

Despite the significant delays with the One UI 7 update, there’s a bright spot on the horizon for Samsung Galaxy users. A source from within Samsung has revealed that the next update, One UI 8, might be released faster than anticipated. This news comes just as Google has adjusted the rollout schedule for Android to assist companies like Samsung in updating their devices sooner.

According to the insider, One UI 8 is set to include the new Decal Shader, which will bring back the smooth, natural animations reminiscent of the old Touchwiz interface, enhancing the user experience on Galaxy devices.

Interestingly, even though One UI 7 has yet to see a full release, the buzz around One UI 8 suggests Samsung is already planning ahead. Google has released Android 16 Beta 2 for Pixel users, but Samsung’s high-end phones are still waiting for the Android 15 update, which came out in October 2024. This has left Galaxy users somewhat confused, talking about Android 15 when Android 16 should be the current topic.

However, the latest whispers about One UI 8 are promising. Despite the silence from Samsung about One UI 7 for models like the Galaxy S24 series, there’s chatter that three more beta versions of One UI 7 will be released for these devices. The fourth beta could be available next week, with the fifth and sixth updates expected in March and April.

Keep in mind, all this information is based on rumors. While it’s exciting to look forward to these updates, it’s wise to take this news with caution since nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Tech features and company plans can change, so it’s good to stay tuned for official announcements from Samsung.
