Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Issue: When will it be fixed?

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 200MP camera has run into a small problem, but don’t worry, Samsung knows about it and is on the case. They’ve confirmed that they’ll fix the issue with a software update that’s set to start rolling out this week.

The issue is specifically with the Night Mode shots from the 200MP camera. Users have noticed strange bands appearing across the sky in these photos. However, the 50MP ultra-wide camera doesn’t seem to have this problem at all.

John Velasco from TomsGuide showed what these bands look like in a collection of photos. It’s clear that when you use Night Mode, the images have horizontal stripes that shouldn’t be there. But, if you switch to Pro Mode and set a 30-second shutter speed, these bands disappear, suggesting that this is a software glitch, not a hardware flaw.

Here’s what a Samsung spokesperson had to say:

“We’ve noticed that a few photos taken in Night Mode on the Galaxy S25 Ultra can look blurry. We’ve prepared a fix, and it’ll be part of the software update starting this week.”

Even astrophotography isn’t immune to this issue, with results being less impressive than those from the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung has faced criticism before for software bugs in new phones, like the grainy screen problem on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which didn’t get fixed with multiple updates. Now, with the S25 Ultra, they’re addressing this new camera issue early on.

Despite this hiccup, the Galaxy S25 Ultra brings some cool new camera tricks to the table. Features like AI-powered Audio Eraser and LogVideo are making video recording more exciting, and the Galaxy AI is enhancing the overall photo-taking experience.

So, while there’s a temporary setback with the camera, Samsung is working fast to get everything picture-perfect again.
