S24 Ultra

Samsung has begun rolling out the February 2025 security update for the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra models in the US. This update is currently available for Verizon’s locked versions, with broader availability soon to follow.

The February 2025 update can be identified by the following build numbers: S921USQS4AYA1 for the Galaxy S24, S926USQS4AYA1 for the Galaxy S24 Plus, and S928USQS4AYA1 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. These updates are based on One UI 6.1 and Android 14, providing the latest security enhancements.

This update prepares the devices for the next major software release, as Samsung is gearing up to launch the One UI 7 Beta 4, with the full One UI 7 update expected in March 2025. Users can update their phones by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

Details of the February 2025 Security Patch

The security patch for February 2025 tackles a critical vulnerability along with 34 high-risk Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) in the Android system. Notably, two of these vulnerabilities do not affect Samsung Galaxy devices.

In addition to Google’s standard security patches, Samsung has included seven of its own Security Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. These are designed to boost the overall performance and security of the device. The update fixes particular issues related to the Samsung Find app and the settings for Android application components, ensuring a smoother and safer user experience.
