Galaxy S25 Ultra: The best screen ever?

S25 Ultra

Samsung’s latest phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, has blown away its competition with an amazing screen. According to DXOMark, a company that tests phone screens, the Galaxy S25 Ultra got the highest score ever – 160 points.

This phone’s screen is so good, it left behind big names like the Pixel 9 Pro XL, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and OnePlus 13. The Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro came in second and third place with 158 points each. Honor’s Magic 6 Pro was not far behind, securing fourth place with 157 points, matching the scores of the Galaxy S25 and S25+.

When it comes to Apple’s phones, the older models like the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro didn’t rank as high, landing at 17th and 18th spots with 151 points. The newer iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro were further down the list at 22nd and 23rd with 150 points.

The OnePlus 13 didn’t fare well, ranking 45th with just 143 points. Even though it was talked up a lot, its screen didn’t live up to the hype in real use.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a big 6.9-inch screen that uses AMOLED 2X technology. It has a high resolution called WQHD+ and can show very clear pictures with about 498 pixels per inch. Plus, it can change how fast it refreshes from 1 to 120 times per second, making everything look smooth while saving battery.

However, it’s not all perfect. DXOMark noted that the screen doesn’t adjust well to dim lighting, which can be a problem in dark places. Also, sometimes the screen can react to touches you didn’t mean to make, which can be annoying.

Pros:

  • You can see the screen even in bright sunlight.
  • Videos look great, whether you’re inside or in low light.
  • The screen responds well to your touches, no matter what you’re doing.

Cons:

  • The screen doesn’t get dim enough in low light, which might strain your eyes.
  • It can mistake accidental touches for commands.

So, if you’re looking for a phone with one of the best screens out there, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra might be your best bet, despite a couple of minor drawbacks.
