Proof: Galaxy S25 Edge boasts 8-core Snapdragon 8 Elite

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

The Galaxy S25 Edge might just be the thinnest phone Samsung has ever made. It’s expected to hit the market in late April 2025. There was talk that it would come with a lighter version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite with only 7 cores, but it looks like that’s not true.

Galaxy S25 Edge Powers Up with 8 Cores

A model of the Galaxy S25 Edge, known as SM-S937B, popped up in the Geekbench database, thanks to Roland Quandt. This leak shows the phone uses the full 8-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, not the 7-core one. It has 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 15 with One UI 7.0.

Performance Check on Snapdragon 8 Elite

The processor in this phone has two main cores running at 4.47GHz and six other cores at 3.53GHz. This setup matches the one in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Geekbench 6 scores were impressive with 2,806 in the single-core test and 8,416 in the multi-core test.

What’s Inside the Galaxy S25 Edge?

Rumors suggest this phone is just 5.84mm thick and weighs less than 162 grams. If these rumors hold up, it’s going to be super light. The screen is said to be a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x, brightening up to 2,600 nits, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

On the camera front, expect a 200MP main camera, a 50MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP camera for selfies. The battery is a 3,900mAh unit, supporting 25W fast charging. With these specs, the Galaxy S25 Edge seems set to offer both beauty and beastly performance in a very slim package.
