T-Mobile and Starlink: Which Samsung phones can use it?

Starlink

T-Mobile is changing how we connect by working with SpaceX’s Starlink to bring satellite messaging to many Samsung phones in the US. This new service is part of a Beta Program where you can try sending and receiving texts through satellites. If you join the program (there are only a few spots), you could start texting even where there’s no regular cell service. T-Mobile has plans to add data and voice options soon.

Using this satellite messaging is easy because your phone doesn’t need you to connect to a satellite manually, which can be tough in emergencies. This feature works on Samsung phones that are up to four years old, provided they’re updated for this service. This makes sure texting in emergencies is as smooth as possible.

Here’s a list of Samsung phones that are compatible:

Galaxy S Series:

  • Galaxy S21, S21+, S21 Ultra
  • S21 FE
  • Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra
  • S23 FE
  • Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra
  • S24 FE
  • Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra

Galaxy Z Flip Series:

  • Galaxy Z Flip 3
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6

Galaxy Z Fold Series:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 3
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5

Galaxy A Series:

  • Galaxy A35
  • Galaxy A53, A54

Galaxy XCover Series:

  • Galaxy XCover6 Pro

This list might grow, so keep an eye out for updates. What’s cool is that you don’t need a T-Mobile phone to use this; if you’re with Verizon or AT&T, you can still join the Beta test, which is free until this July.

Once the Beta ends, you’ll find T-Mobile’s satellite messaging in their Go5G Next plan. If you’re on another plan, you can get a $5 monthly discount by signing up early with the Early Adopter Discount.
