February 2025 security update for Samsung Galaxy S22 series

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are now receiving a new security update for February 2025. This update, which is currently available for users in Europe, will soon be rolled out to other regions as well.

This security patch brings fixes to one critical security issue and 34 significant vulnerabilities in Android, although two of these do not affect Galaxy phones. Additionally, there are seven Samsung-specific vulnerability fixes aimed at enhancing how you use your phone. These include improvements to the Samsung Find app and various settings within Android.

The goal of this update is to ensure your phone is safer and works more smoothly. It also tweaks some features to make them run better.

The update versions for Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra are S901BXXSDEYA1, S906BXXSDEYA1, and S908BXXSDEYA1, respectively. The update size is about 310MB, so you’ll need some free space on your device.

To update your phone, go to “System Settings,” scroll to “Software update,” and then tap on “Download and install.”

This update is built on Android 14, but keep an eye out for the upcoming One UI 7 update which will come with Android 15. By installing this security patch, you’re setting your phone up for future updates, ensuring it stays secure and up-to-date.
