Easy upgrade with Samsung’s new phone plan

Samsung

Samsung has launched a cool new way to get the latest phones with the Galaxy S25 series, called the “Samsung Phone Upgrade Club.” This plan lets you enjoy a new top-of-the-line phone without paying the full price upfront, and you can even sell it back to Samsung when you’re ready for a new one.

The “Samsung Phone Upgrade Club” has caught on quickly among people buying the Galaxy S25. In South Korea, during the pre-order phase, one out of every five buyers chose this subscription option. On the Samsung website, 30% of those buying unlocked phones joined the program. The big draw? Getting to use the newest phone model each year. The club is especially popular with younger folks, aged 20 to 39. They like the idea of not buying phones outright but instead subscribing, which matches their habit of frequently updating their gadgets.

  • After one year, if you return your phone, you get back 50% of what you paid.
  • After two years, you get 40% back.
  • Plus, you get protection against damages through Samsung’s Care+ plan.

The S25 Ultra has been the top pick among those in the club, thanks to its high value when returned.

This trend isn’t just with Samsung; even South Korea’s big three phone companies have started similar programs, showing that more people are getting into the idea of subscribing to phones instead of buying them. Lim Seong-taek, a high-ranking official at Samsung Electronics in Korea, shared his thoughts:

“We’re thrilled with how much everyone likes the Samsung Phone Upgrade Club. It’s changing how people think about buying phones. We’ll keep pushing the boundaries to make getting a new phone both exciting and easy on the wallet.”
