The new Galaxy S25 Ultra comes without an S Pen that has Bluetooth features, so it doesn’t need batteries or charging. However, Samsung decided to include an S Pen charger in the phone, which has puzzled many fans.
Samsung fans are not happy about the changes to the S Pen in the S25 Ultra. The new version is just a basic stylus, without the extra features that came with Bluetooth connectivity. While the core functions of the pen remain the same, the lack of advanced features has been a hot topic.
Interestingly, even though the included S Pen doesn’t require charging, the Galaxy S25 Ultra seems to be equipped to charge one. A teardown video by JerryRigEverything shows that the phone’s S Pen slot still has an inductive charger, looking just like those in older models.
This discovery leads to some speculation. Could Samsung plan to release a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen in the future? Or was there a last-minute change in design? The S24 Ultra’s S Pen doesn’t fit in the new model, suggesting that the design wasn’t merely recycled from the previous year.
Samsung continues to sell S Pen replacements for $50, even though they don’t have Bluetooth. There was some confusion earlier due to a Samsung blog post that mistakenly suggested new smart features for this year’s S Pen. In reality, the S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is just a well-made stylus, nothing more.
