Many Samsung Galaxy devices are still waiting for their first security update of 2025, but Samsung is already working on the next one. They’ve just shared details about the security fixes that will come with the February 2025 security patch.
This new patch includes fixes for problems found by Google that affect all Android devices, plus some specific fixes for Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets. Among the issues fixed in the core Android system, one is very serious, and there are about thirty others that are considered quite risky.
Samsung has also addressed seven security issues unique to Galaxy devices. They’ve fixed some problems for devices using Qualcomm Snapdragon chips on Android versions from 12 to 14. There’s also a fix for a vulnerability that could have affected Galaxy smartwatches with the latest Wear OS and Samsung One UI Watch.
As of now, no Galaxy device has received the February 2025 update, but it won’t be long before it’s available. For some devices, this security update might come together with the Android 15 / One UI 7 update, which is expected to begin rolling out in the next few weeks.
