Samsung is making strides in technology that could soon let you check your blood sugar as simply as you check your heartbeat. The tech giant is reportedly gearing up to add a feature to its Galaxy Watch that will monitor glucose levels without poking you with a needle.
Currently, if you have diabetes, you might use a device that sticks into your skin to keep track of your blood sugar. But Samsung is looking into a new way where no needles are needed.
Smartwatches already do a lot for our health, like counting steps, checking heart rates, and keeping tabs on sleep and oxygen levels. Now, Samsung wants to include blood sugar checks in their upcoming Galaxy Watches.
At a recent health event, Hon Pak, a top Samsung official, talked about creating a special kind of sensor that uses light, just like those used for heart rate, to watch blood sugar levels.
While there’s no set date for when we’ll see this feature, Pak is very excited about the progress. He thinks it could be a big deal. There’s talk that this might come with the 2025 Galaxy Watch, known as the Galaxy Watch 8.
If Samsung nails this tech, it’ll be a game-changer for health monitoring, making it easier and less painful for everyone. Keep your eyes peeled for more news on this front.
