Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Series: 7 Years of software updates

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung has made a big promise with their new Galaxy S25 phones. They’re saying that these phones will get software updates for a whole seven years!

Back in 2022, Samsung was the first to say they would give four years of updates to their top phones. But by 2024, they decided to match what Google was doing with their Pixel phones – promising seven years of updates.

This means that if you buy a phone from the Galaxy S25 series, which was just shown off in San Jose, California, on January 22, you’re set for updates until at least 2032. You’ll start with Android 15 and One UI 7.0, and by the end, you could be using Android 22. Plus, for the first four years, you’ll get a new security update every month.

This is great news because more people are keeping their phones longer these days. With seven years of updates, your phone stays safe and up-to-date, making it a smart buy even though top phones cost a lot.

It’s also good if you plan to pass your phone down to someone in your family. They won’t have to worry about using old software.

The only thing to think about is how well these phones will work after so many years. Samsung has done a good job making their phones run smoothly, so we’re hopeful, but we’ll see how they do towards the end of that seven-year stretch.
