Apple has introduced an interesting capability for Mac users in the form of the Background Sounds accessibility feature. No! It’s not the ordinary audio that will run on your Mac. Instead, this tool promotes calm and focus at your work by minimizing distractions.

Users can play calming tunes to eliminate unwanted sounds and noise in the surroundings. One can opt for balanced, bright, and dark, as well as natural audio like ocean, rain, and stream.

How to turn on the Background Sounds feature in Apple Mac?

  • On your Mac device, click on the Apple symbol
  • Tap on System Settings
  • Select the Accessibility section > Audio
  • Click on Background Sounds and tap the Choose button
  • Hit the download symbol for the sound you want to download
  • Once done, tap on Done
  • Turn on the toggle for Background Sounds
