Android 14 preps separate ringtone and notification volume sliders

Android 14 is gradually attaining speed in its development and it looks like the first new change we will see is separate volume sliders for ringtones and notifications. It would be an excellent fix for Pixel phone users, who were demanding the respective modification for a long time.

The inputs are being confirmed by a recent reply on the Google Issue Tracker. So far, a user requested the company to bring separate volume bars for notification and ringtone sounds. As of now, an official moderator replied “Marked as fixed” on the particular thread.

Further, the comment reads that the requested feature will be available in a future version of Android. Though there is no revealing about when the shift will take place. Perhaps, we will find the new changes in the form of separate volume sliders with the Android 14 software upgrade.

While the information sounds interesting, we didn’t find any clue regarding it in Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3 or Android 14 Beta 1.1 firmware. However, Android analyst – Mishaal Rahman said that Google has been working on this implementation since Android 13 QPR2 Beta.

It is worth mentioning that the Android 14 developer preview 2 has shown some tweaks of the separate volume sliders. Thus, we could expect this significant feature with the stable release.

Tech makers like Samsung have already provided their users with this benefit. But it’s time for Google to bring out a new segment for its users. Of course, the US manufacturer took a long while to apply a basic tweak to its OS. But, it is better late than never. We will keep you posted with the latest details on this topic.
