According to the latest report, India will officially launch 5G services on October 1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the launch of 5G in India at the Mobile India Congress.

In July this year, India launched the auction of the 5G spectrum. The auction is for 72,097.85MHz of the 20-year spectrum, including the 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz bands.

Moreover, India’s telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw previously said in an interview that India should be able to launch 5G networks in first-tier cities in October and expand to other regions next year.

5G technology is the next generation of cellular technology, with download speeds said to be 10 to 100 times faster than current 4G LTE networks. In addition to faster data download and upload speeds, the technology promises wider coverage and more stable connections.

In early November last year, Brazil officially launched the 5G spectrum auction. At that time, 15 telecom operators bid for the four 5G frequency bands of 700MHz, 2.3GHz, 3.5GHz, and 26GHz.
