According to Statista, the PC platform will be second only to mobile and console games in 2021, and in the U.S. alone last year, PC gaming revenue was still as high as $36.7 billion.

Google also began to tap the potential of PC devices. Google Play Games for PC has entered public beta in five markets: South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Australia.

Google Play Games for PC is a program that allows Windows users to play Android games on their computers. The minimum specs for this app update are as follows:

  • Windows 10 version 2004 or later
  • Quad-core CPU
  • Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU or equivalent
  • 8GB RAM
  • 10GB SSD storage

According to a Google blog post, the app currently supports over 50 games. “In the past few months, the Google Play games catalog has more than doubled to more than 50 games that can be played on Windows PCs through standalone apps built by Google.

The catalog includes many of the world’s most popular mobile games including Summoners War, Cookie Run: Kingdom, Last Fortress: Underground, and Top War. Hundreds of millions of players around the world play these games together.”

Moreover, the PC version of Google Play games will be tested in other regions later this year, but no more details have been provided so far.
