After the source code is open source, it means that all Android mobile phone manufacturers can now use and adapt to their own mobile phones. In addition, it is also necessary to develop custom ROMs such as LineageOS. Also, open source is important for developers as they will also release compatible versions of their applications and use the API to build more functionality.

It is worth mentioning that Google released the source code of Android 13 under the Apache License version 2.0, which means that developers are free to modify and distribute the code without open-sourcing their modifications, which allows smartphone manufacturers to develop their own closed-source operating system.

This Android 13 update brings security improvements (privacy, notifications, etc.), UI/theming improvements, productivity improvements (tablet interaction, etc.), OpenJDK 11 LTS update, support for the new MIDI 2.0 standard, ART optimizations (improving app performance and efficiency) ), garbage collection improvements (reducing memory pressure), and various other evolutions and changes.

Moreover, the Android 13 operating system has been pushed to Google Pixel devices today. Google said that it will appear on devices from other suppliers later this year. If you want to know more details about Android 13, please Click here to view the Android Developers Blog.
