OPPO’s self-developed Mariana MariSilicon X image-specific NPU chip shortlisted in TR50 list

Today, with the first self-developed imaging-specific NPU chip “Mariana MariSilicon X”, OPPO will be listed in the 2021 “MIT Technology Review” “50 Smart Companies” (“TR50 ”) list. This is also the first time that OPPO has entered the list. Mariana MariSilicon X is OPPO’s first self-developed image-specific NPU chip. It adopts a 6nm advanced process and self-developed IP design to elevate computational photography to a new level.

The Mariana MariSilicon X also reflects OPPO’s R&D capabilities. This chip has 18TOPS computing power and 11.6TOPS / w energy efficiency ratio, as well as 20bit Ultra HDR dynamic range capability, 20bit RAW domain processing, RGBW Pro dual-channel processing performance, and supports chip-level 4K night scene video, HDR video, 4K extreme night video and App Camera enhancements.

In addition, data from CINNO Research shows that in the first half of 2022, the sales of smartphones in the Chinese market were about 134 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 16.9%. Among them, OPPO’s smartphone sales in the first half of the year firmly held the first position; Honor’s sales jumped to the second place, with a year-on-year increase of 118.3%; Apple, Vivo, and Xiaomi ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.
