Apple iOS 15: How to add recovery contact

Are you worried about your iPhone’s password? Well, Apple has a solution for that too. Just like other useful features, Apple’s Recovery contact feature is very helpful. It is available on Apple iOS 15 and later operating systems.

Your recovery contact must be a trustful and faithful person. You can also select a person from your family group, or the recommended contact. This feature allows you to select up to five recovery contacts for your account. And also, the person must be 13 years old and should have an Apple device.

Here’s how to add recovery contact to your iPhone:

  • Head towards the Settings menu of your iPhone
  • Tap your Name
  • Click on Password & Security
  • Now, press Account Recovery
  • Under Recovery Assistance, Click on Recovery Contact
  • Now, authenticate with Face ID and Touch ID
  • You can choose the contact from your contacts
  • If you select your family member, they will be added automatically. But if you choose a contact, they need to accept the request
  • After they accepted, you will see a message that they have added as your account recovery contact

If suppose, your contact declines themself as your recovery contact, you will receive a notification and now you will need to select a new account recovery contact
