Android 12: How to disable pre-installed applications

Posted on

Android launches its device with some pre-installed apps. You may find a few of them useful, but what about the pre-installed apps that you never use and will not use in the future also. These apps even can’t be removed through the uninstallation process.

Additionally, these apps keep on notifying us to update them. Unfortunately, you can’t uninstall them, but Android provides you an option, through which you can disable them and you can put a stop to unnecessary notifications.

The following steps will help you to disable the pre-installed applications from your smartphone:

Steps:

  • Go to the setting menu of your device
  • Choose the Applications option
  • Select the app you want to disable
  • Now, Tap on the disable button

This process will not remove the app from your Android device, but the app will stop running in the background. Also, those selected applications will no longer show up in the app drawer section.

If by chance, you want to receive notification updates, then you can switch the process to “Enable” by the same process. And if you are unable to see the Disable button, or see option names “Uninstall updates”, this means that you can’t disable that particular app.
