According to the “Lenovo Group Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Report for the Fiscal Year 2020/21”, Lenovo Group is expanding the range of products using closed-loop recycled plastics, from 66 models in the previous fiscal year to 103 models.

Since 2008, Lenovo Group has reduced the number of packaging materials by 3,240 tons through technological innovations such as biodegradable bamboo and sugarcane fiber packaging. In the fiscal year 2020/21 alone, packaging material consumption was reduced by 140 tonnes.

It is reported that Lenovo will gradually phase out disposable plastic tapes, tapes, and plastic films starting from the ThinkPad computer packaging bottom plate in 2018-2019. In addition, Lenovo provides packaging made of biodegradable biomaterials made of bamboo and sugarcane fibers, which can reduce the overall packaging volume of products and improve the efficiency of carbon dioxide emissions during transportation.

In recycling e-waste, Lenovo has launched a list of products made from CL PCR. Since the program was implemented in 2017, more than 2,500 metric tons of dead-loop material that should have been landfilled have been used.

In addition to this, Lenovo has been developing low-temperature solder (LTS) solutions since 2016, investing a lot of time on the production line to test LTS, reducing CO2 emissions by 59 tons.
