AMD will launch the Ryzen 7000 series processors with 5nm Zen4 architecture as scheduled by the end of this year. The desktop version is still up to 16 cores and 32 threads. The performance is very exciting.

However, based on the lessons of various shortages and price increases after the 7nm Zen3 processor was launched in the past, the biggest concern for Zen4 this year is AMD’s supply capacity, and this problem inevitably involves TSMC’s production capacity allocation, 5nm generation.

The good news is that TSMC will increase its 5nm chip production capacity this year. Industry chain sources say that TSMC’s 5nm production capacity will increase from 120,000 wafers per month to 150,000 wafers per month, an increase of about 25%.

Moreover, the increased production capacity of 30,000 pieces is mainly for PC customers. The specific customers will not be announced, but AMD is reported to be one of the beneficiaries, which is good news for this year’s 5nm Zen4 production capacity.

AMD CEO Su Zifeng previously confirmed that the Ryzen 7000 can achieve full-core 5.0GHz. The new Ryzen 7000 desktop processor will use the LGA1718 interface, will use the new AM5 slot, be compatible with AM4 radiators and support the latest DDR5 memory. technology and support for the PCIe 5.0 standard.
