It is reported that since January this year, the Dutch Consumer and Market Authority (ACM) has issued a weekly fine of 5 million euros to Apple, which will continue until Apple gives a satisfactory solution.

According to a report by MacRumors, Apple was fined 5 million euros by the Dutch Consumer and Market Authority (ACM) again today. This is the 10th fine that Apple has received for this matter.

Most of the software in the Apple App Store has always forced users to use Apple’s own payment system to pay. And Apple will take a 15%-30% commission from it, which is what everyone calls the “Apple tax”.

In recent years, the Dutch Consumer and Markets Authority has been investigating whether Apple has abused its dominant market position. Dutch dating software developers have previously filed lawsuits against Apple.

According to the ACM regulations, once the total fine reaches 50 million euros, subsequent fines may be higher. This means that if Apple cannot come up with a suitable solution this week, the fine will start to increase in price next week.

But Apple does face a dilemma now, because as long as the Apple tax is relaxed in the Netherlands, users in other countries and regions, as well as regulators, may also be dissatisfied with the status quo and follow the Dutch practice.
